Who We Help

QOLCS welcomes Tampa Bay residents who need a reliable starting point for aging, veteran, disability, mobility, wellness, caregiving, housing, or community-support questions. Information and referrals are offered with respect for each person’s identity, experience, and right to make informed decisions.

A diverse group joins hands around the word Equality.

Older adults and caregivers

Older adults and family caregivers often have to coordinate several needs at once: benefits, transportation, housing, daily support, wellness information, and long-term planning. QOLCS can help organize the question, identify appropriate public or nonprofit resources, and explain what information a third-party agency may ask for.

Veterans, service members, and families

QOLCS helps veterans and families find official starting points for VA health-care enrollment, disability and pension information, accredited benefits assistance, caregiver resources, wellness education, and crisis support. QOLCS has assisted 20 Florida veterans in navigating access to needed health-care services. We do not publish participants’ private medical information.

Veteran social events hosted from 2021 through 2025 were intended to reduce isolation, strengthen connection, and support well-being. QOLCS does not describe those events as clinical treatment or claim a measured suicide-prevention outcome.

LGBTQ+/Pride community members

LGBTQ+/Pride older adults, veterans, caregivers, and people with disabilities may face additional barriers when seeking affirming housing, health information, social connection, or long-term-care support. QOLCS is committed to respectful, inclusive resource navigation and links to organizations with specialized LGBTQ+ aging knowledge.

People with disabilities and visual impairments

People with mobility, vision, or other disabilities may need accessible transportation, employment accommodations, independent-living tools, or help locating a specialized agency. QOLCS can provide a resource starting point while being clear that direct transportation and clinical services are not currently represented as active QOLCS programs.

Job seekers and people rebuilding self-sufficiency

Career transitions can be especially complex for older workers, veterans, and people managing a disability. Our career page organizes public workforce, vocational rehabilitation, accommodation, and benefits-related employment resources.

How QOLCS can help now

QOLCS currently provides free information, resources, referrals, and appointment-based guidance while direct programs are rebuilt. We can help Tampa Bay residents identify a useful starting point, prepare questions, and locate an appropriate public agency or community resource. QOLCS does not determine program eligibility and cannot guarantee that a third-party provider will accept a referral.
